    Default Stirling Soap Company

I just got a puck of shaving soap and two bath soaps from Stirling Soap Company. I didn't find any reviews or mention of them here, so I thought I would share my experience.

I ordered these products on Sunday. I came across their site by chance. The prices were great, its home made, so I said what the heck. It arrived in just two days!!! Right off the bat, an A+ for service. To my amazement, a third full bar of bath soap was thrown in for free. So to me, that's an A+++. I ordered a bar of grapefruit for me, and a vegan oatmeal and Shea butter for my wife (smells great). Included was a bar of vegan strawberry, which I'm sure my wife will also like. I did not use the bath soaps, so I have nothing to share from there.

The shaving soap I purchased was cumin and orange. Big puck. Only complaint is that it didn't fit into any of my shaving mugs or bowls. I ended up sticking into a larger sized coffee mug the car dealership gave me. So far, so good.

The scent is AWESOME! Very peppery. I got a great lather going after what I consider some user errors. I started out a bit dry, but then added a bit too much water, as it got a bit runny. Loaded up a wee bit more soap and achieved a perfect lather. I'm not experienced enough to give "scores". I have used a ton of products, both what I would consider "retail" (TOBS, AoS), and "hand made" (Mikes Natural, Al's), and the list goes on from both. However, I've only been wetshaving for about a year and a half, so I will leave the scoring to the pros. But I will say that I achieved a thick, long lasting lather that compared to my other favorites. It gave great cushion, and great glide. I will note that I did also apply AoS lemon pre shave oil, so YMMV.

The scent lingered a bit. My bathroom actually still smells like cumin an hour or so later. No irritation to speak of, but I also don't have sensitive skin. No bumps, rashes or anything else. Made for a very smooth, comfortable shave.

So in short, I am VERY pleased with the service. The shaving soap gave a great lather, great scent, and great shave. I use the big names too, and TOBS Grapefruit may forever be my favorite cream. But this soap is of very highquality. I strongly recommend giving it a go, especially for the service you get at those prices. I always want to support the hard working home small business folks. The idea of someone toiling in their shop, experimenting, failing, tweaking, all in an effort to produce a high quality product to please the customer....now that is truly something special. I am a happy customer after one shave, and will certainly do business with them again.
