Geo F. Trumper Rose Soft Shaving Cream
Geo F. Trumper Rose Soft Shaving Cream
Producer: Geo F. Trumper, London, England
Type: Soft Shaving Cream.
INCI (List of Ingredients): Aqua, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Coconut Acid, Glycerin, Parfum, Triethanolamine, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, CI 17200, CI 16035, Citronellol, Cinnamyl Alcohol
Very good ingredients, except for - in my opinion - Triethanolamine, Propylparaben, CI 17200, CI 16035 and Cinnamyl Alcohol. Also "Parfum" is of unknown origin. Score: 8
Pakage: This cream comes in a tube or a thread pot, Score: 9
Quantity: Tube: 75g (2.64oz) - Thread pot: 200g (7oz)
Smell: Rose flower, quite strong and sometimes excessive, not really "natural", Score: 7
Lather: A truly small quantity makes an incredible huge quantity of rich, creamy, stable and long lasting lather. The lather you see in the picture has been made with just a "half a hazelnut" quantity of cream. The lather was so abundant that at the end of my usual three passes there was still so much lather surely more than enough for another pass. Excellent water retention, creamy, fatty and wet, with tiny and stable bubbles, Score: 10
Shaving: Very comfortable with a wonderful velvety touch on the skin. The lather is very creamy and the razor slides easily with no sign of dryness, not even at the end of the pass. No sign of skin irritation. Very good, Score: 10
Conclusion: An excellent shaving cream, very effective and of high quality. Personally speaking, the scent is not one of my favorite (I love the scent of rose flowers, but in this case it does not seem to be "that natural") however pleasing during all of the shave. A superior product for its shaving performance, leaving the skin smooth, velvety and well moisturized. A very good shaving cream, Score: 9The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+

Great review Razorguy, as always. This is one of my very favorite creams. Fortunately I am too old to care about any of the questionable ingredients.
I am enjoying your reviews please keep them coming. : )Bob

Thanked: 1263Thanks for the review. I tried a sampler of it I received a while ago just the other day, and it surely doesn't take much of the stuff to get enough lather for a 3 pass shave. I like strong fragrances and this one didn't disappoint, although I must agree it is a little on the unnatural side. Great performance overall though

Yes, Catrentshaving, I agree with you: this cream has a wonderful performance, as well as the other Geo. F. Trumper cream I reviewed some time ago: http://straightrazorpalace.com/soaps...ing-cream.html
I too love strong scents in shaving soaps/creams, however this one seems to be quite "unnatural" and, in my opinion, a bit negative for the overall judgement of the cream which is, in any case, excellent.
On this regard, I liked the scent of Geo F. Trumper Coconut Oil Shaving Cream better. The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+
