    Default Attention: Use Distilled Water

A while back I started a thread discussing my difficulties in getting good lather with Honeybee Spa Sandalwood Soap and the water from my tap. Well, if your have hard water like I do, then save yourself some time and agony by using distilled water. I bought a gallon of it today and used it for a shave --the lather was incredibly rich and moist and gave me the best shave of my life. I had no idea what real lather was like before. The results were dramatic and I don't use words like this lightly. Thick rich lather that doesn't dry out? ---this is a new experience for me. The pictures below show the lather produced with tap on the left and distilled water on the right. The other picture is my cat --she thinks she's a dog and that's alright by me. Later,

    Justin,

Glad the distilled water worked. I've recommended this on several forums because distilled water is about as pure as you can get. Bottled water is suspect. I'm fortunate I don't need to use distilled water, but would not hesitate at all if the situation were to arise.

I can't compare it to anything but I think the burma brush is adequate for me ---but I'm kind of utilitarian in some ways --if it works it works. Plus some of those badger brushes are too nice for me ---I'd feel guilty using them --hang them on the wall or something.

That was sort of a self-test for me as well. Once I thought I had the lather thing down, I went back and tried to do it with the Burma-Shave brush. I figure if you can make good lather with that, you can do it with anything.
