Thanked: 1Musgo Real
I'm new to straight razor shaving and I am trying to find some good products to use on my face. I'm Canadian but have a Portuguese heritage and feel I have a patriotic duty to try the Musgo Real products. Has anybody used their products and what did you think? Any other suggestions. I'd like to use the full range of products from shave oils to gels and creams. Also, does anybody know of any good retailer of shaving products in Calgary? Thanks

I've used their aftershave balm and though I like the scent I thought it left my face with a very waxy feel to it. I've also used their bath soap and I liked it a lot.

Thanked: 3225I have used their shave cream and it works well. I am going to guess that you will not find it stocked in Calgary but it is available on line at Shaving Creams and Soaps - Italian Barber Online Shaving Supplies and Musgo Real Shaving Creams | Fendrihan Shop | Fendrihan Shaving Store in Canada. To compliment the Portuguese shave cream have you considered a Semogue shave brush Semogue Premium Handmade Badger Hair and Boar Bristle Shaving Brushes from Portugal

Thanked: 1263I have the Oak Moss cream and it's great stuff especially for the price. Nice scent and gives a good slick lather.

I was stationed with a few Portuguese officers a few years back, and the last time my friend Tomas visited the states, he brought me a tube of the spiced citrus cream. Its as good a cream as anything I've used from a tube, and if you have a personal connection to it, even better. I like it even though my last name isn't Souza!

Thanked: 1195You can't go wrong with Musgo Real. Try the cream in conjunction with the aftershave splash and your face will never feel smoother.

This is a cool thread !!
I'm also interested in opinions about Musgo Real Shaving Soap Classic.
Sorry, don't mean to hijack this discussion.

The Musgo Products are about the only ones I am now, after much testing, using. Both in terms of pre- and post-shave treatment. I use the Glycerin Lime soap on & off for the pre-shave face wash, nearly always use their pre-shave oil and the Musgo Real Classic is what I use in 95% of my shaves as the final after shave treatment. Although I am still getting used to their new formula (not that new anymore but it took me awhile to use up my previous bulk purchase). It is less 'sticky' and also smells less strong. Haven't decided yet whether I like it or not. The skin care performance however does not seem to have suffered, which is good news and which was the main reason for me sticking to this brand and product - it just works for me.

Thanked: 485The cream is excellent. I've used one of the 'new' scents (Orange Amber) and it lathered as good as the old classic scent. Now the 'old' classic scent is also more natural and still has its old distinctive strong scent. They basically lather themselves in 15 seconds.
I bought my first Musgo real aftershave the other week (No.3, Spiced Citrus and it's great, very nice feel on the skin. Doesn't last all day, maybe until just after lunch). I'd highly recommend the cream and aftershave.Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Not a fan of the cream...the smell that is. The cologne also smells like a product you use for diaper rash...Desitin...
