Thanked: 0where to buy shaving supplies in Canada?
I have looked all over the web (how I found you guys) and can't find any where to buy soaps, brushes, Razors ect. in Canada.
I would buy from the U.S but have heard horror stories of buyers getting stiffed with long shipping times and large shipping fee's.
If anyone has the name of canadian shops or any good American sites it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike I.

Mike, I generally never had serious issues with long shipping times or high shipping prices. Here are a few tips though:
1) Crabtree & Evelyn has stores in malls in Toronto and Ottawa. I´m sure they have them elsewhere too. Great creams and aftershaves, bad soaps and they have a decent starter brush made with Best Badger grade bristle for $55+tax.
2) Colleen Hurley has great soaps and creams at reasonable prices (thegentlemensquarter at verizon.net for her price list) and won´t charge an arm and a leg for shipping.
3) Matt (Shavethebadger) makes some amazing brushes. Take a look at his profile as he has his website in the signature. You can pick it up in Guelph if you REALLY don´t like paying for shipping

Welcome, Mike
There are a few things which tend to run up the price at the border.
Anything over $50 seems to send off alarm bells with the border guards.
Anything from a certified retailer like Classicshaving will do the same.
UPS shipping is insane. They like to charge a brokerege fee for the service of crossing the border with your stuff.
Insist on USPS shipping and buy small quantities from small businesses and you should avoid too many hassles.

Two questions, where are you and what are you looking for?
I have bought from several US vendors with good results and very little in the way of fees/duties, etc. With NAFTA, you only have to pay tax and I've often had shipments come through without any problems.
USPS is the key - I NEVER have anything shipped by UPS or FedEx - you will get screwed at the border (they both often charge a "brokerage" fee - in addition to duties and taxes).
If you live in the Toronto area, I can give you some places that sell shaving stuff for reasonable prices - also, if you let me know what you're looking for, I can recommend some vendors who provide good service to Canada.
