Acca kappa soap
Has any of your guys used this soap and have a steady lather with this soap?
I have a puck of this to try, but after a couple of shaves i got no luck, and no good lather with this soap. What do i wrong?
This is my routine :
I fill a cup with hot water and let the soap soak in hot water for a few minutes.
Load the brush with plenty of soap and do a face lather ( the same effect i have when i make lather in a bowl)
This is the same routine as with my other soaps where i got a great lather with.

I've used their White Moss and loved it!
No problem getting a good lather and the scent is one of my favorites, hard to get now tho!Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

Kalerolf, I wonder if it might be a water chemistry problem (not necessarily "hard" or "soft" water but maybe some other chemical/mineral measurement is off)? I can't make a good, lasting lather from soap at all; they all work great as part of a superlather, I do fine with creams, but no luck at all with just soaps.

Think its not a water problem, my other soaps (mama bear, Proraso Cella and even Celanni ) have no problem with the water.
I have tryed more water and les water in my brush it dont wil work with this soap,I get annoyed by this and ask my self why.

Whilst the AK 1869 cream has had an excellent history, the soap in question has never been considered even close. I began using soaps in 2010 and even back then, I read many posts on other forums sharing this opinion. The only plus side I recall was that it used to be sold in a magnificent wooden bowl but at a ridiculous price. I haven't seen the bowl for some considerable time. Not surprising really.
Edit: I stand corrected about the bowl availability.

Unless you can find the tub of AK1869, I wouldn't bother. Although it was available in both tub and tube form, the tube never lived up to expectations either. The tub has been unavailable for well over a year now. There had been rumours that it was being reformulated, and it may be, but that form is the only AK1869 cream I would suggest you buy if lucky enough to find one.

Thanked: 12I bought the Acca Kappa 1869 soap in the Wenge bowl. The soap performed much as you describe. Of over thirty soaps and creams in my rotation, this is one of three that refuse to perform no matter what I try. I used some with the matching cream to form a fairly good super lather but finally decided to use the soap up as a shower soap.
The 1869 cream in a tube is a solid product, the soap is a dud. The Wenge wood bowl is heavy, attractive, well made, and is now home to 150 grams of MdC Fougere soap.
I have also tried Acca Kappa bath soaps. They are excellent.

the The 1869 cream in a tube is plenty to buy here in Holland, the soap are move the cabbinet or as you say i use as a bathsoap. Like the smell but for the rest its not good.
I order a tube of creme and see what that is. Indeed de bowl is great, also a nice silvertip brush with the same sort of wood. lokal price for a nice wooden handel with a silvertipknot + brushholder a nice €345-(im not buying that)
Thanks for your anwsers guys i post a update when the creme is arrived
