Default Found an unused Yardley Lavender Soap in an antique shop

It was 10 bucks, still in the box/bowl, and totally untouched. This is a stock image off of google, but exactly what I got. Is it worth using, or should I keep it for display?

I have a different Yardley soap but same bowl and use it in a rotation of soaps. Try it and find out.

My son found one similar though without the box and was able to trade it on Badger and Blade (am i allowed to mention that forum?) with someone for a nice Simson badger brush. if it were mine i'd see what i could get for it.IMO

I am not interested in selling it or trading it off. It will remain in my display, or go on my face. If it is something that is a good soap, I will use it. If other think it is better as a cool display item, I will use it for that. If it is somehow the holy grail of soaps, worth it's weight in diamonds, well that is a different story and I would gladly sell

For $10 you did well. I say go ahead and try it. If it's only one in a rotation it will take years to use up.

No, it is not the holy grail of soaps and it does have one big thing wrong with it and that is they don't make it anymore. Do you really think I would keep a soap in my rotation if it was a poor soap? You might not find too many others using it because it was discontinued quite awhile back IIRC.

No idea if you would use it or not Bob. Not sure what your criteria for a soap in your rotation is. My comments were aimed more at the poster who suggested I try and resell or trade it. I was not trying to do that. Just curious if anyone had used it and if it were worth using or just keeping as a display piece. I am going to probably just try it out for the fun of it.

I don't blame you for not taking somebodies word on it at all. I do use it. The only way to find out for yourself is to try it. FYI my criteria for a good usable soap runs from Arko to MWF/Tabac all of which and others lather well for me and do the job.

If it was sealed I'd try it. If not I wouldn't use it. Who knows where it's been no matter what it looks like.
