Recommend a new soap

Tried Mikes love it, felt great on the skin lathered brilliantly

what do you recommend people?

You will get a myriad of suggestions, but since you are in London I would try one of the Taylor of Old Bond Street creams. They lather every easily, have great scents, give a great shave, and are reasonably priced.

I used the TOBS Avocado just this morning.

The flood gates are opening on this one for sure. I have DR Harris Arlington a very nice English soap. You can't go wrong with a puck of Tabac. The Norwegian Fitjars is also a great soap, I have their Slatteroy and Neroli pucks. On the cheap and cheerful side a shave stick of Palmolive or Arko and even a blue bowl of Wilkinson's will do nicely. I have had good luck with all of these. Almost forgot to mention The Body Shop's Maca Root cream too. Have fun drowning in SAD.

thats a great cream, and very straight forward for a londoner to pick up! In terms of soaps my go-to soaps are proraso green or red. Arlington I also own and is a nice lather. I didn't get as much protection from TOBS as I would have liked.

If I was in London, I would visit the Penhaligon's store and purchase some of their shaving soaps--"English Fern," "Blenheim Bouquet," etc.

They have some nice shaving creams too and matching colognes too. I just purchased some Penhaligon's "Juniper Sling" cologne.

May sound funny but, I've become a fan of Classic shavings brand of puck soap. It's like five and change for a puck and I get a dynamite lather and glide with no irritation. Plus, the scents are very nice and true.

You have asked a question that has to deal mostly with personal preference. Yet I do like mystic water. They use tallow which really makes for a smooth shave. A little difficult to lather if you have hard water.

Absolutely, thats what i was expecting,

I said previously I have Mikes (Rose and Cedarwood and his Barbershop) which have worked excellently for me really loved it felt great pre during and post shave and smelt great without being over powering.

I have tried quite a few soaps. I would buy something I hadn't tried, I had Queen Charlotte Soap recommended by a friend. I bought a ton and I am giving it out for xmas presents too. But I also want to try WM Neuman, and Kokum and Sterling there is just so many. Its always a tough choice.

That and body shop have an offer on at present where you can get 2 tubs for £11.20. Not bad at all.
