Default Savon a Babre a L'Alum - Osma Shaving Soap

So has anyone tried the Osma Shaving Soap, I've got a tin on the way:

Osma Shaving Soap contains an Alum based formula that is great for preparing the skin for a close, clean shave. The potassium alumhelps against cuts and niks while the shea butter adds moisture to the skin. It has a light, fresh scent.

    The shaving soap arrived yesterday!

Had a shave this morning with the Osma soap with the Alum and it was absolutely stunning, like a cool breeze on your face, right deep in the pores, not like a menthol or eucalyptus feeling, right in your skin, feels totally refreshed.

Felt like the alum did contract the skin, shave was very close with just two passes, this is now my favorite soap, the MWF, DR Harris, Tabac, they're all great, but this is like an creamy MWF with a buzz of alum - very, very nice!!

15 minutes later, my face was feeling nice and warm, almost like the feeling with the MWF and the lanolin tingle, but this is a sensation right deep in the pores of your skin, this is a very unique shaving soap, never felt anything like it...as of now, must say, for the creamy, thick lather that built right up on my brush and lathered on my face no problem, great, close shave, and the absolutely refreshing feeling on the skin later has made this my #1 favorite!!

Funny, this all started with me reading a post incorrectly, think it was Ryan82 I thought had written that he was applying the alum block before shaving...thought that was interesting, then several posts later, realized I read it incorrectly, until another member piped in that he's heard of that before, and that there was in fact a soap that had alum in it! Hence, the Savon a Barbe a L'Alum - Osma!!

This really is a great place!!!

edited to add: the scent is amazing, my wife just said that it smells, "wonderful, very nice." Only downside of this soap, is I didn't use the alum block!!

Sigh, so many soaps and so little time. I will put this on the list to try.

That's right, you were in the thread where I got the alum block usage arse backwards!!

This is definitely a very unique soap, hours later and my face still feels very refreshed and scent is really pleasant, refreshing. The Shea butter also feels wonderful for the skin. This soap just took the number one spot!
