What happened to "i've been on the beer so I am going to wait" . That was pretty quick, you are quicker than me I think, but I've always struggled with pace.
Sounds like you had fun, if the lather starts going dry just pop some.fresh over the top, or moisten thr tips of your brush and freshen it up.
Yes the tightness is normal, you have just exfoliated your face really well, if you have some sort of moisturiser it wouldn't hurt to pop a bit on. I used to use vitamin e cream, it has nice healing properties.
Personally I hate the prefix "uber" and suffix "meister" but as they are in common parlance you sort of have to use them, weirdly I am ok with "super" as in superlather, but fro what I can tell superlather is just soap and cream, whereas uberlather also has glycerin. I also add a touch of moisture balm to mine as well, mainly to use it up.
Well it's about 12.30 here and I get up in about 3 hours so I really need to go to sleep, but for the last few days I have been up all night and sleeping all morning. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

Sounds like 2/3 of a lime smellling uberlather to me
Never having tried T&H I cant say for sure but their products are supposed to be very good so the cream should be fine.

lol. I know Ed, was just too impatient, plus I thought if I were to cut myself up badly Id rather do it with a few beers under my belt to dull the pain lol. (And thin my blood, which is obviously a sound decision hehe)

Ive been on this site pretty much daily, just couldn't wait to give it a try. Apart form the couple of nicks, overall was a nice shaving experience.

I used to have to allow an hour for all the shaving and.stuffing around.that went with it, I now get done in under 20 mins including all clean up.
There is no reason to back up if the shave went well, provided you have the time to really concentrate on what you are doing so you can replicate what went right and fix what went wrong.
I presume you have a fairly good idea of your beard map etc.
I did have a thought re the tightness, if your angle is too high or your pressure too great then you will be scraping your skin which will be sore. I did this to start with, coupled with an obsessive need to remove every hair from my face, to the point that post shave my face would look sort of shiny and plasticy, and be sore for most of the next day.

    Here come the Monkey Wrench

Do you know that many believe that the Hot Towel before that shave is used not to just soften the Beard but to release the natural oils at the base of the follicles to help with the shave... This is why you should shave before you shower rather then after

There are many such "Theories" out there only the guy in the mirror can tell you which is going to work best for you, try it all, enjoy the journey, except a cold water shave don't listen to those guys, they're crazy, total loony tunes (that is for my friend Jimmy)

One thing that I do agree with is that Shave Soap tends to have a bit more "Glide" then Shaving Cream that teds to give better "Cushion" but which is better for your face again only the guy in the mirror can decide..

I compare every shaving soap and cream to the suds I get from both Xpec and Castle Forbes shaving creams. From a standpoint of nice lather, cushion and glide, these are the best on the market in my experience. There are some very good creams and some very good soaps out there. I probably test as many of both as any one out there and really think as previously said, that you have to go with what you think works best for you. Not sure of the basis of the statement quoted, but that would not be the advice I would give someone. I won't use the YMMV either.

    Have fun.

I do the same. The tubes are easier to pack and you don't have a semi-wet puck to wrap.
