Thanked: 1Called out by SWMBO
So I just picked up some AoS lavender shave cream and lemon pre- shave oil. Great products and my first shave with them was easy and pleasing.
My wife noticed the new products and was a little exasperated...I had bought some Aqua Velva Ice Blue the day before and some Old Spice the day before that.
i got a razor in the mail off the bay and have a cheap silver tip on the way too.
i just started SR shaving and feel pretty sheepish for my quick additions. I get that the soaps serve a function and last a long time, but it's fun to try new ones! i think I will throttle my purchases to keep the peace at home and avoid gentle ridicule when with the inlaws.
anybody else experience this? How do you approach it?
it would be neat if there was a reliable place to swap used soaps (sanitary?) so you could try some without necessarily owning a lifetime supply.

Thanked: 1195You didn't even tell us what she said LOL
Don't worry mate, you're not alone. Some wives/girlfriends seem totally supportive, others seem fairly disdainful. My wife tells me she likes that I have a hobby one day but the next she's telling me I'm a metrosexual and that I have more products than she does - a claim that I outwardly doubt but deep down, well......

Thanked: 1Ha, yes the products comment has come up before. I agree, I don't think it's a hateful hobby. I'm clean shaven and smell good now! I may accumulate without displaying if that isn't too shameful.
I picked this hobby up as I spent my final two weeks with a dying family member, reading posts and learning about all this helped me cope with a truly awful time. Glad to meet you all

My wife never speaks to me anymore...
I'm not sure if that's because I have a serious case of 'RAD', or if it's because we divorced over 20 years ago? Either way...I'm Happy!

Some companies offer sample packs of soap so you can try them out. Pretty cheap and sometimes FREE...
Don't ask me who or where though.....I FORGET...

Well you could get the stuff sent to work, but as long as you don't spend more than you can afford I don't really see why it matters. I am sure your partner spends money on stuff she wants.
And there is a want to trade section in the classifieds.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast
