I see in the background my 2 favorites, Tabac and MWF. SRD soaps are great too.

I tried this one this morning (I already had SRD's Blood Orange and liked it). The soap is, as with Blood Orange, a quality performer. I like the scent...I think. I think this one will need to grow on me.

I won a tub of this at the Asheville meetup, and test lathered a new brush with it. I agree that the scent might have to grow on me. But OTOH, Tabac won me over pretty quickly.

Thanked: 4942I am a big fan of Opus X cigars as well.
One of the things I find with the Tobacco based scents is that people most of the time either love them or hate them. Kind of like Alt Innsbruck aftershave. I really like these scents, but as some say they grow on you too. What makes these soaps special for me is that they are easy to transfer the soap to the brush. Just a little water and 4-5 short whisking sessions followed by a touch of water and then a good face lather. Nice big suds that plaster on with a very good cushion/glide for me. The suds are not airy suds that thin out on application and with a little more whisking, they perform well on a second pass with touch ups as well.
I am pretty hard on judging soaps as my standard for comparisons are either Castle Forbes or Xpec so certainly YMMV will apply here.
Have fun.
