    Default Czech & Speake ??

Question for the more seasoned wet shavers and soap connoisseurs. I just received a Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge soap and tried it today for the first time. Lather and protection were good enough, nothing exceptional. My question is this, is this soap supposed to smell like wet cement throughout the shave??
Any insight would be helpful thank you.

Wow. I'll be interested to see the responses. C&S is the last "great" soap that I have yet to try and I've been putting it off trying to behave myself at least for a short period of time. But the colognes I've tried by them are highly fragrant and it would surprise me to find out that their soap scents were weak or somehow off putting. It sounds out of character.

I purchased a replacement puck of 88 and put in my own container.

    It's a very nice scent.

I have it in my rotation. I would not describe the scent as "wet cement"! I do find the scent pleasant and it is one of my better hard soap latherers. It gives a very nice tallowy lather with good glide and cushioning. However, it is expensive. Would I suggest you go out and spend $40 to get it? No. It is over priced. But it is very good. I got mine as a gift so no pain for me.

It's great stuff and smells wonderful. They have different scents so it depends which one you got. The soap is worth every penny. If you get it in the Aluminum Tub it's costly but then again the tub isn't just a tub. Kind of like calling a Ferrari just another car.
