Thanked: 8My dilemma
I've been fortunate in acquiring great performing soaps and creams, now I can't decide on a favorite. I go through my pre-shave routine and when I reach for the soap/cream I hit a wall. Soap or cream? Scented or unscented? Dilemmas, dilemmas. How does one decide? How did some of you decide on a favorite?

Thanked: 4827I choose by the way that they shave. The wife chooses by the scent. All the ones she doesn't like I use when I go away for work and don't purchase again.

Who said you had to choose a favorite?

I think the most common answer would turn out to be in part SWMBO... I'm single so I use a lifeline and call a friend.
In all seriousness though, I just go by my mood when I am home but I am on the road most of the time so I'm stuck with only a couple of creams/soaps.Gerry

Thanked: 1195Some have a regimented rotation - Soap A on Mondays, Soap B on Tuesdays etc. I did that for a while but gave it up years ago as I found that it took the fun out of the ritual, made it too rigid.
Nowadays I have a good idea of what hasn't been used for some time and that usually determines what I'll use. But there are also those days when I pick out a favourite for no other reason than that's what I had my heart set on . Sometimes you just have to pick the soap or cream that speaks to you.

Having this dilemma is truly a blessing. I have found a way to capitalize. I pull the lather from my brush into my scuttle, every shave (using a mug or face-lathering in between) and use a coffee can plastic lid over. After about 4 shaves with everything under the sun, I warm the scuttle, 4 drops glycerin , dampen the brush and go at it. The Best!

I have something like that for my blades, but for now I know what I like and what I don't like, so I'm trying to use up the ones that I don't like (I'm way too cheap to toss them) and then I'll move back to the ones that I like..... the only exception is Saturday .... I always use something special on that day

Sandalwood is my wifes favorite scent on me and its my personal favorite as well. I have 10 creams and soaps currently in my cabinet, Try to show them all a lil love. 4 of which are sandlawood. So I alternate shaves. 1 day a sandalwood soap/creme then the next shave another scent then back to sandalwood and so on and so on.

I pick according to the phases of the moon. When there is no moon I let my Husky choose which one to use.
