Off the reservation.
I have used creams exclusively since beginning this hobby. Recently I purchased a bar of locally handmade shaving soap, Cinnamon and Lavender. I decided to try it out this morning. Since it was a bar, I decided to grate the soap and then put some in my scuttle for use. Everything seemed to go well this morning built up a large volume of nice lather easily except the suds kept dying rather rapidly. I spent a lot of time "rewhipping" and re-lathering my face. In the end, I got a nice shave and the soap seemed to do a good job of keeping things slick but just too short lived. Would adding glycerin to the mix help that or is that just a "non-drying" agent? Any suggestions?
The easy road is rarely rewarding.
