    Default TOBS

So I bought TOBS lemon lime and sandal wood without consulting my team of experts led by (insert your name). Sandalwood is my favorite cent so I am not to worried about it. I was wondering if anyone has tried the lemon lime and if so, how strong is the smell? As always.... Thanks.

Hey mate, when I reach for a shaving cream it's one of these three:

The Sandalwood reminds me of an olde time barbershop and is my favourite.
The Lemon and Lime is perfect for a summers' day. The citrus-ey combo really does cool the skin.
The Rose is great for an evening out. Makes me feel like an Edwardian-era gentleman.

They all stink great and are not overpowering. Depending on what your post-shave routine is, you probably
moisturise and apply an after shave, so to a certain extent, it's a moot point, unless you're using
    a complimentary a.s.

I can definitely say that the TOBS Lemon and Lime shave cream in conjunction with Col. Conks Lime aftershave is
    a winning combo.

I've gotten off the subject a bit, but hey, why should the girlies have all the fun with potions and lotions ?

Next to DRH, TOBS is my go to in any scent. Bongo said it just right. If your AS isn't scented a like the lasting effects of the creams scent is short lived. But pleasant during use.

I picked up the sample pack from ToOBS, and I didn't prefer a majority of the scents.

Each day I shaved with one cream, and the aftershave consisted of one drop of glycerin in palm with an ounce or so of witch hazel.
    In order of preference:

Sandalwood: Very pleasant scent during and after shave, but not a true sandalwood (plus, there is zero sandalwood essential oil in the cream)
Almond: Just what it says, and very aromatic
    Coconut: As above
Jermyn Street: Light, fresh, and a little musky - my favorite of the "modern" scents
St. James: Very similar to Jermyn St., but just a little stronger staying power
Grapefruit: Smells VERY close to grapefruit juice, and it's very nice, subtle, and refreshing to catch a whiff periodically throughout the day.
Eton College: The loudest and muskiest of the modern scents - too much so for me. Similar to Calvin Klein
Avocado: Just what it says, although a little too much of a "baking soda" smell
Rose: Very good rose scent, but way too strong for my taste (also, not as desirable on a man, I think)
Lemon-Lime: Not so much lemon/lime as straight citrus oil, but doesn't quite contain enough citrus oil
Mr. Taylor: Least favorite - not a bad scent, but I felt there were several conflicting odors in this one, and the occasional whiff during the day wasn't very pleasant

I like citrus scents and choose the grapefruit over the lemon lime everytime. Grapefruit smells just like it...lemon lime seems "fake."

Gents thanks for taking the time to reply. I will most certainly let you guys know what I think.

Bongo, I just ordered the aftershave. I prefer to use all the same "flavor".

Rich that's just about exactly my breakdown of the scents too. One you didn't mention as it may not be in the sampler was shave shop. It like all the others performs well, but to me smells like a can of barbesol. My favs are Jermyn st, eton college, st james in that order. All the other scents fall in random as I feel like something different.

Redcane I'm glad to know I am not the only one who's OCD makes me buy matching AS. Only for the real favs though.

That one wasn't in the sampler, but it doesn't sound like I'm missing that much. After using all of the sampler pack between myself and the girlfriend, I have settled back on my red and green cans of Proraso - those two are my favorites so far above all others (shave quality, lather, scent, etc.).
