Arko
I have TOBS soap Ive been using for awhile now. Fairly pleased with it but today I stopped by the pharmacy and picked up some Arkos shave stick. I have to say I like it better than my TOBS. It lathers very nice on the face.

Arko is legendary and worth the inexpensive price. Yes, the soap pantheon has superior soaps, but that does not diminish this soap's overall quality — for the price. The Arko creams are quite good, too, and I always keep some of the unscented around to occasionally mix with other soaps. Good stuff, all this.

We all seem in agreement that for $2-4 US it's hard to do better than the Arko sticks. I rub a wet stick on my beard then face lather when I'm using it, and it gives as good a cushion and glide as anything I've used. It is an especial favorite when I'm traveling. With my synthetic Muhle travel brush, it whips right up on my face. Love it.

There are lots of super cheap soaps that are worth a purchase.
Palmolive stick, creme, puck.
Erasmic stick, creme, puck.
Ingram creme (UK)
Wilkinson sword, puck. (Probably branded Schick in the USA)
I think all can be had in the UK for under £2. The sticks are normally £0.50. The cremes tend to be a little loose on the lather, but the sticks and pucks are fantastic value.Real name, Blake
