Default Vegitable Glycerin and Hard Soap

Will a few drops of glycerin give me a richer lather, or not. I'm using Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandlewood hard soap.

    TMJudd,

Glycerin will not necessarily give you a richer lather. Your soap or cream quality, the right water ratio and your refined lather technique will help you do that. Glycerin will add a wee bit more glide. Too much glycerin, however, will choke your lather. I rarely use glycerin in my lather, but if I do, it will be a maximum of five drops.

One thing to consider is your water source. Do you have hard water? If you do then it will be hard to get a good lather.

Water seems to be fine, as well as the soap, now. What I did was to score the surface of my puck, with a sharp knife. I cut a checker-board pattern atop the puck. The soap now loads quickly onto my silver tip brush and whips up a great lather in short time. Problem solved!
