Cold River Soap Works-Soft Soap Wow!
I tried my first product from Cold River Soap Works today, the soft version of the Bergamot and Bay shave soap. This is another excellent Artisan soap line. They also have a tallow line.
This is the scent description from CRSW: “This blend of perfume grade essential oils results in a warm, masculine scent with base notes of bergamot, pipe tobacco and cedar wood combined with fresh pine and soft bay leaf top notes.” The description does not do it justice. This scent is spectacular.
I loaded up my brush for about 30 seconds, which was probably 10 seconds too long. I quickly got enough great thick, cushioning lather for a 3+ pass shave. This CRSW is a “Top Tier” soap, IMHO.
Ingredients: Raw, Organic Goat Milk, Coconut Oil, Stearic Acid, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Essential Oils, Castor Oil, Glycerin & Vitamin E

I don't know if I should thank you or curse you...
Seriously - we all have to be grateful for all of the great soaps and creams - many out of very small operations.
But then we have to look at that stash under the counter and go "what was I thinking?"

Lince is what websters defines as an enabler! I think he secretly gets paid to stir up business for all these companies. LOL. I know I have spent my fair share of $$$ because of soaps an creams he posts reviews on. All joking aside though, nothing he has recommended has let me down. He also continually teases me with that brush.

Thanks Lince-I'll add this to my (growing) list of soaps and creams to try. I need to start stocking up for future generations too, as I currently have only enough for one lifetime.

I used my small sample puck of the CRSW Classic Savon #2 today that Larry included with my tub of the Original Bergamot & Bay. The Classic line is tallow based: Raw, Organic Goat Milk, Food Grade Tallow, Stearic Acid, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Essential Oils, Glycerin & Vitamin E.
The scent is described as “a woodsy overtone with middle notes of minty herbs and light citrus top notes.” I like the scent. It is fresh and light.
It produced a nice fresh minty lather and I got a great shave. Overall, between the two, I do think I prefer their "Original" line of soft soap.

2nd outing with the CRSW B&B. Excellent quick, thick lather with a great scent. The Slim and Polsilver held up their end for a great smooth, close, and nick free shave.

So my sample pack arrived this week.
Barbershop, Savon and B&B.
Loaded the Barbershop in an Old Spice mug and gave it a try.
Nice stuff, not a strong scent but pleasant, lathers well and it's slick.
Like all "new" stuff I need to give it another try or two but it did very well on the first go.
So I have a road trip this week and I'm going to throw the B&B in the bag and use it the rest of the week.
Now I need another soap/cream like I need termites...but like termites they just seem to show up.
