L'Occitane En Provence CADE Shaving Soap
S.O.T.D.
Straight Razor
Boar Brush
L'Occitane CADE Shaving Soap bowl lathered
Prep - Hot Shower
Aqua Velva Sport aftershave.
Okay got up Sunday morning past went into a hot shower not before prepping my boar brush in hot water and grabbing the jar that holds my new shaving puck of L'Occitane Cade shaving soap. I wet the puck for a few second too help with the lathering and what a lathering that was in less then 15sec my boar brush was loaded with shaving soap. Took to my bowl and whipped it into a nice lather by adding some water and after 30sec had enough for three face and head shave and a touch up or two. The lather came with a nice aroma of ceder, juniper and a few other scents that was very mild. Using my straight razor let me tell you the glide was very smooth almost didn't feel the blade gliding down my face or neck. As for protection well my neck sometimes has a touch of red after a morning shave but not today. Finished off my shave with some Aqua Velva Sport aftershave, I will say this about L'Occitane CADE shaving soap for $16 dollar this was a very good purchase. I will add that after one hour after my shave my skin feels very smooth as if I had used some moisturizer baby smooth!!!

Thanked: 3227I'm sorta on the fence about L'Occitane En Provence. No complaints about it's performance but the scent smells like dirt/earth to me. Nothing offensive just sorta meh for me. Just another case of YMMV with how scents are perceived.

Gentlemen,
I like the L'Occitane Cade, the lather and the fragrance, and dislike the cream version. By Jove, it's a night and day difference between the two.

Thanked: 15I like the soap and the fragrance. I also like the L'Occitane AS balms as well.

Cade is an excellent soap with a great scent, and the balm is as good as it gets. L'Occitane recently rereleased Cade EdT.

Yes; unlike the soap, the cream is terrible. At best good for lubricating door hinges.
I wonder how L'Occitane can continue carrying such an inferior product; by now they should have caught on, as I cannot imagine that many consumers come back to buy a second tube.
In fact, it might hamper future sales if consumers imagine that other Cade products are as bad, which would do them great injustice.
I had mentioned this a few times in local L'Occitane shops and was sometimes told that the current shaving cream was "re-formulated", or that a new "re-formulated" version was about to be released.
Luckily, I never held my breath in anticipation, because I would have died by now from asphyxiation.

Thanked: 49I've never used the cream in the tube but I did buy a tub of the rich shaving cream and I love it. One of the best and longest lasting lathers I've ever made. The scent of the cream is much more pronounced than the soap. I don't know if the tub is a new formulation or not, but I have read that it is different than the tube. YMMV.
