Better yet, try Nivea shave cream. It makes great lather and is very face-protecting.

@lindyhop66 -- I've heard good things about the Nivea, I will have try it out some time.

I had better luck today using a silivertip badger brush. It lathered up better than the boar and horse brushes. I got nice lathers on both WTG and ATG. I had to relather a little late on each pass because the lather dried a bit, but the shave again was superb with no irritation, bleeding, or redness.
