Thanked: 116That is weird... I don't have that reaction to Proraso (and I bought the tubes in 2008! nor the pre/post cream from the same year) but I had a similar reaction with the cream used by my barber. I didn't ask what cream it was but, based on the barber's website and the smell of the cream, I would guess TOBS lemon and lime. I experienced burning even before the blade touched my face and my face was red/sore for the rest of the morning... luckily my interview was in the afternoon.

I like Razorock, Barrister & Mann, How to Grow a Mustache Synergy Soaps, and Catie's Bubbles. The Barrister & Mann and HTGAM Synergy soap do not dry out my face much. I also like Musgo Real lime glycerine soap as a pre shave. Razorock aftershave wax is great if you have had a rough shave but I usually use an alum block very sparingly.
Of course the alum can be drying too but you can always use any type of aftershave lotion/face lotion after using it.Last edited by Swanny; 12-09-2014 at 01:44 PM.

Thanked: 116Monsavon "bol à raser" if you can get it cheap, which may be hard in the US. Palmolive shaving stick is also good, so is Palmolive cream. Tabac cream and Tabac puck are good if you like the smell of the 70s.
