Robin, have you tried any of the Fitjar shaving soaps?
I agree with you with Forbes & Gomez soaps but I put the Fitjar up there with them too.

I will give these a try. Thanks.

jaycey, I have indeed. They would be on my list of products to recommend, too. In theory. In practice, they have become very hard to come by (like the defunct Caraceni, and, regrettably, XPEC). But they were very good.

However, Meißner Tremonia excel in scents and packaging. When you order, give Thomas Meißner my regards. He is extremely pleasant to deal with, and I wish them much luck and success.

Since things have changed a bit here since I was last active, and ad hominem attacks seem to have become quite popular, I can provide a picture of my bill (€247 if memory serves me right). I have no stocks in this company, I do not get freebies for pushing them, either. I tried them, and I like them.

If I saw right they only accept wire transfers. That to me is a killer.

Pretty typical of German business's I have dealt with, wire transfers.
I have a German friend here in the UK that sorts that out for me with his German bank account

Bollocks, jaycey. As you can see in the picture above, they do accept PayPal.

Golly, I feel like a pusher already. Tell you what, if you want samples first, let me know. Their products will last for a very long time, and I do not mind losing a bit. Nelson, you want some? jaycey? Shipping is on me. Next in line gets another free sample. Dark Limes only, because I am giving the rest to friends (1) and family (2).

That's odd, when I checked the site I didn't see paypal. As a matter of fact for overseas you have to go through this long winded process of selection and then they send you an email which only mentions their bank and says nothing about paypal.

I know I shouldn't have taken Spanish as a foreign language.

Nobody expects a Spanish customer... In my opinion.

On a more serious note, I logged in with my local (ie German) credentials. It should not make a difference, but then again, who understands modern software. You can either persevere, or I can call them tomorrow and see if anything can be done about this. Probably, the easiest thing for them to do would be to find a US based retailer. In the meantime, get some Alvarez Goméz, or Esbjerg, if you have not done that already. Because they are outstanding products in their own right.

Just a quick update. Their stuff just got even better. Because the first publicly available batch was found to be difficult to lather, Meißner Tremonia quickly reacted. The results are below (the sample is Black Beer No 1, by the way).

I have not tried a more exciting product in years. For me, it beats Castle Forbes, which has been my benchmark since 2008.

    Hi, Robin
Can You describe "Black Beer No.1" soap scent?
On G+ (I'm Pierpaolo on there ) you say just It is great, but on the web description is so generic.
    Maybe you can help ...
