Mickey Lee Soapworks - New Vendor with Tremendous Lather
Hey everyone,
About a year ago I took up wet shaving, Since the very beginning I've been using the same puck of MWF (stuff lasts and lasts) I never really got into buying soaps. After a bad soap purchase a couple weeks ago, I found Mickey Lee Soapworks over on Reddit/Wicked_edge. These guys just came off etsy and started their own webstore. Their whole line of soaps can be found Here. Purchased three scents so far, but gave one to a friend. The two i have right now are Drunken Goat and their fall seasonal hallowed harvest. All of their soaps are very soft, they load very easily and quickly, there's no need to soak these soaps before use. They're not a thirsty soap, wetting the soap and using the damp brush method, produces a wonderful slick and cushiony lather. All of their soaps contain lanolin, which is a huge plus for me. Also goats milk is pretty high up on the ingredients list, so if you read my other thread, Yes i found one that does lather, and oh how it lathers.
Drunken Goat - Smells like a nutty oatmeal cookie, with a backbone of chocolate/stout. Very delicate and sweat fragrance, definitely my favorite so far.
Hallowed Harvest - Very similar to Goat, Less cookie notes, smells more like punkin spice bread with nice cinnamon overtones. I great scent over all, glad to have gotten some sense this years batch is discontinued.
The one soap not pictured is Cocoa Maya - A really deep dark earthy soap, bitter chocolate, with a woodys herbal body. Cocoa really comes out when you build a lather with it. Good soap over all, i had ordered one for my self but they only shipped 1 of the soaps, they're apologized for forgetting one, and are sending me another.
Here i did a 15 second load with a damp brush, lather built very quickly in the bowl. First picture is at about the 30 second mark, this stuff is damn near explosive. Gave it another few swirls for the third picture, and it just kept building.
Check this stuff out. It's a super bargain, and it smells so good I'm struggling at not eating it.

Left that lather in the bowl over night, turned it into an uber lather today with some MWF and more drunken goat. Dear god the creaminess.

Just pulled this out of the mail tonight, had them send me Italian Stallion instead of a second cocoa maya for the one they forgot to ship on my last order.
Scent is a little hard to describe. definitely getting some light citrusy notes, with a powdery perfume body. Not as sweet as I was hoping for. It's interesting, and it smells better then I'm able to describe it.
Maybe not my favorite scent from them, but it's definitely useable. It will go nice with the Lime pre-shave butter tester that they sent me.

The names of these remind me of pipe tobacco.
