Thanked: 14Storing shaving cream?
I'm essentially a hard soap guy but now want to explore some good creams. How long can I store an unopened tub of cream before I risk spoilage/separation of the mixture? The creams I'm looking at specifically are TOBS Natural, Esjberg, T&H and Baume.
If it helps, I live in a tropical climate with high humidity. With soaps, I usually wrap these in zip lock and store in a cabinet. Even Cella has held up well this way but I am unsure if creams are as resilient.

Hi Karlo,we have a southern mediterranean climate which can be 40C in the summer, and sometimes like to keep creams & other various products in the fridge.
So yea, i would keep it in the fridge. I reckon it would last an extra year hope this helps.

Thanked: 14Hi Slasher!
Perfect! Our summers peak at 40 to 42 C so your advice is extremely helpful.
Thanks!

I always keep soaps and creams in a covered container, covered as tight as possible. I rotate so my stock lasts years and I have never had a problem. The cream will turn into a "soft" hard soap and if left uncovered or loosely covered most scents will begin to dissipate after a while. I've never had something actually go bad though.

Karlo,
Like spendur, I rotate my creams. Keep them covered and you'll be fine for quite sometime.
