Williams mug shaving soap
Hi to all, i would like to share my opinion about the Williams mug soap. For me i used it for about 5 years now and i will still used it until they stop is production. The first point is the Price value, $1.69 to my local drug store or grocery store well it's hard to beat. Since the cost everything(living expences)and knowing that a puck could last for 3 months or so for me it's à good point. Second point when you learned to make à good lather whit it the results are good, for me i get à good slickness of it. I know there's lots of other soaps and cream on the market Who can get assome results but for me(budget wise) i get great results whit Williams. I know there is a lots of Stuff on the market but you have to be ready to pay the Price for it. If a person is able to afford all that Stuff it's also ok. This past Christmas i received creams and soaps but Since it was gift i gladely take them and i have to say that was lux for me, it also did a great job on lathering, protection and slickness but honnestly i can't afford that Stuff. When i started 5 years ago i was shaving whit the Bic(single blade)cause i found the other razors to expensive and Has for the Williams my father show me how to use it. But to get great lather out of it it's on that forum that i found the secret, no glycerin just water lots of water like it said on other threads it works best whit water. I found DE shaving less expensive then my other way that i use to shave. Anyway in my opinion budget wise Williams Mug shaving soap works for me comfortable shave no irritation no ingrown hair great lather and mots of all great slickness.

...and add a few drops of glycerine before lathering - even better.

Thanked: 171While I am not a fan of Williams, I do agree you can get a decent shave with Williams and I do appreciate the value/cost relationship.
The choice of economy shaving soaps or creams also has a lot to do what alternatives are locally available.
In my case, as I can get a Palmolive shave stick for less than $1 and Palmolive shave cream for less than $2, Williams has an uphill battle that it just cannot win.

Pretty much anywhere in Europe, North Africa, Middle and Far East.
Due to my job I travel frequently and usually stock up in Europe.
In Germany, a nationwide drugstore chain sells Palmolive sticks for 74 (Euro) cents.
Whenever my supply is low, I grab a few.
If you care to try, just see my Palmolive PIF post of today.

If you can find Palmolive shave sticks for $1 you may have already hit the low cost shave soap jackpot.
Unlike the sometimes hard to master Williams I've found Palmolive sticks easy to use and produce great results. I think it was traveling with a Palmolive stick was what converted me to face lathering.
