Musky, earthy scented soaps... what's your favorite?
I enjoy these types of soap but haven't found many to try.
DRH Marlborough is one that I enjoyed, and the wife didn't...
Another was Barrister & Mann Hallows. I would have kept it had agreed with my skin.
Are there any others that fall in the same camp that you've tried & enjoy?

Thanked: 375I would recommend Portland General store WHISKEY old-fashioned wet shave soap | Portland General Store
And The Real shaving Co. The original 3 step system from The Real Shaving Co. Look at the Classic shave formula's, they work great with a brush
Mikes Natural soaps **Mike will be away from 12/22-1/1. Orders placed between 12/20 and 1/1 will begin to ship on 1/2. Happy holidays!** ** I?m currently processing orders from 12/18-12/19.** Tallow, Lanolin, & Kokum Butter Shaving Soap Tin I suggest Pine and Cedar
Marlborough didn't agree with my nose - I think I pretty much am not a fan of sandalwood I tried Poraso's sandal wood and didn't like it eitherCHRIS

Great tip on the Portland General Store item. Just placed an order.
Mikes is a product I use with great success as well, but I don't have the Pine & Cedar yet... That will get ordered up as soon as it's back in stock.

Thanked: 375PGS Whisky - Definitely earthy, despite what the name leads you to believe, I like it
Just so you know....The MNS Pine and Cedar does smell like a pine with a warm cedar background - I also would have suggested Fitjar Feljheim (probably spelled that wrong) They nailed it as far a pine forest in winter, the scent is just awesome. But they closed up shop due to EU regs. last I heard.
The Real shaving Co. - is a tea tree oil scent, a subtle earthy scent, great stuff that I think explodes with lather, but I'm not a huge fan of creams.Last edited by Trimmy72; 01-02-2015 at 04:56 AM.

....
ive found that i really enjoy the SRD Opius X , and the Vanilla Bourbon , the Queen Charlotte Briar ( they dont make anymore) and Mama Bear "whiskey cream" , to me the tobacco/whiskey scents seem closer to a musk gland or woodsy scent then some of the "specific" woodsy scents , although i will second that the Mike's "Pine & Cedarwood" is pretty close to its label , and then the Proraso "sandalwood" i feel has that musky aroma also

Sandalwood from "The Art of Shaving" is a great earthy scent. Seems many outfits make that scent base but the wife comments nicely every time she smells it. It's a masculine and mature smell, not the overly sweet stuff the kids are slapping on their faces at the mall.

I skipped buying Crabtree & Evelyn's Nomad soap because it smelled too earthy.

Between the art of shaving sandalwood and queen Charlotte's celestial woods its hard to choose.
