I've only tried the Piment De La Vie (spice of life) and it is by far the easiest thing to get lather from. The scent is strong but very nice. I will be getting others cause I'm really liking the performance from it.

    Gentlemen,

This thread's topic is Xpec and Martin de Candre. Let us stay with the topic. Thanks.

Obviously I still love MdC. Almost to the bottom of the Fougere scent. There are some really good cheaper soaps out there too, no doubt. But you gotta try the MdC.
As a side note, Old Town Shaving in Pasadena recently started selling some of their products online, so you can now get MdC from them here in the states.

Wonder if they ship to Canada? I May get in touch with them, the whole reason I've never ordered was the shipping rate was terrible. I bet it's a lot more reasonable from these guys......hopefully. I really want and need to try MDC!!!

I haven't done any online shopping with them so I'm not sure, but they're a pretty service oriented place in my experience. I'm sure if you called and checked they'd let you know. I bet they'd ship for actual cost, just guessing.

They can be had for $20 and come in many scents. Heres the ingredients as I read them from the jar. The ingredients are similar and is one reason I purchased the soap. I haven't pony'd up and spent the money on either MDC or Xpec but plan to in the near future.

    Ingredients for Catties Bubbles,
Stearic acid, water, coconut oil, potassium hydroxide, sodium lactate, Glycerine, Fragrance
Although I have not tried Catties Bubbles, I have tried what are considered the premier Artisan Soap makers, i.e Barrister and Mann, Stirling, Mikes, Phoenix and Mystic Waters. Although these are all great soaps, they are NOT MdC or XPEC, IMHO.

In fact should you check out their ingredients, you will find that the group above have ingredients which are far and away better. A KIA has the same general parts as a BMW but it is no BMW, same with the soaps, closest perhaps is B&M, then Mitchells, then Mikes down the line, none are as good as MdC or XPEC. Terms of Lather, Slickness, Post Shave, etc.

Remember I am a noob but jumped in hard and fast.
