    Default ABC shave this evening

I'm betting a lot of you have tried Antica Barbieria Colla. I just finished a straight shave this evening and I am impressed! Smooth, hydrating, and a long lasting dense....not fluffy....lather. I have been using MWF but I have to say Antica is remarkably better...at least for me.
At a time when I thought I needed to re-hydrate my face and apply new lather, I touched that area and the lather was smooth and was retaining moisture. I shave atg on my chin on my third pass and this soap was so slick my blade cruised over the area with no drag.
If you have heard of it but not tried it I believe it is worth your investment. Old Town carries it and shipped in three days. All inclusive...63.00 for puck only.

    happy blading!

How would you describe the scent?

The smell is light on the almond and a light cherry scent. It is not a beautiful fragrance but I'm more into function than form. I do enjoy MWF, CF Lavendar, and other. This soap is as I saw it described, a Ferrari or Rolls Royce of soaps.

Sounds like it smells a bit like Boellis Panama 1924.

    Ok.
I have recently come to enjoy Cella and am very excited about Italian soaps, probably because I love the almond/marzipan type scents. If I could find an Italian almond scented soap that performed as well as tabac I would be hard pressed to put it down. Do ABC or Boelis really out perform Cella to that degree? Or is it the presentation that everyone is so caught up in?

Never had too much of a problem with how Cella performed just could not stand the scent. OTH Boellis Panama 1924 has a very nice scent to my nose with a little more cherry to it and really performs well for me. I'd say it performs better than Cella so for me it was worth it based on scent and performance. I would put it among my favourite soaps along with Tabac which I love to use. As is usual you pay more but not for a huge increase in performance imo.

Honestly I've never seen the fascination with Cella. It's OK but that's about it (IMHO). I think Boelis is far better or for that matter MWF is better too.

ABC has a much stronger scent than Boellis, Bob. I like the performance of ABC, also, but I prefer Boellis for the less prominent scent.

Thank you for the info on the scent. I think I'll stay with the Boellis then.
