Thanked: 0Breast milk soap???
Okay, so it's a little out there but here goes:
My wife is breastfeeding our son and she has to express a bit off most days so she can sleep comfortably. The other day she mentioned to me that she was thinking of using the excess to make soap.
I thought "Hey, why not give it a try for shaving?". The thing is, she was going to make it using glycerine as it's a lot easier.
Any of you guys have experience in making your own, using either glycerine or other bases? I'll be providing an update once I've made a couple of different batches.

I've only used it for an after shave balm. The problem for me is obtaining it. I've put advertisements in the local paper, but I tend to get more visits from the police than from young mothers.

Thanked: 0ace,
Humor notwithstanding, it's a pretty time-dependent thing. I'm just going to use the really old stuff we have in the freezer as my wife donates most of her excess to mothers of babies that can't tolerate formula. If we didn't have a heap frozen, I wouldn't bother.
The big question for me is; has anyone made their own soap, using milk of any species with glycerine as the binder or does a different compound work better?

Cold River Soap Works uses goat's milk as it's primary ingredient. Might want to give Larry an email and see what he thinks.
