I`ve come to that point in my life where i`m thinking of tossing it out. I don`t generally toss shaving equipment out unless it really sucks. I really want to like William`s because it`s cheap as anything even in Canada but if it doesn`t work and provide a comfortable shave why should I keep it?

I read Disburden`s post on unlocking the secret to William`s and even after using his method i still failed to achieve any lasting lather. It was still all airy and bubbly and i`d been working on it for about 5 minutes, let alone when i put it to my face it disappeared within 20 seconds. Should I keep playing around with it or toss it? I want some opinions.

Also I want an everyday soap as the soap i really love is 20 USD per tub which if I factor in conversion and shipping it works out to about 40 bucks so i`m saving my last tub. I thought that my everyday soap could be William`s but unless something changes i`m going to have to find another soap. I like soap pucks... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Guys.
    Stop torturing yourself!

The current makers of Williams have taken a chicken salad that satisfied shavers for over 150 years and made it into chicken dung. Way to go Combe!

Get a good soap. You owe it to yourself!

Maybe Stretch10 will do or has done a video on building lather with Williams.

Being a daily straight razor shaver, at 5:30 am, I don't need something that takes too much effort.

There are at least 9 "How to lather" Williams soap vids on You Tube https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...ams+shave+soap .

Gentlemen thanks for the great insight. I in fact got a decent lather out of Williams today and therefore a decent shave. I am not going to bash it again or throw it out. I left it soaking in a mug with my brush, loaded it and went straight to face lather. First time I have face lathered and it came out pretty awesome, thick and cushiony.I leave it at the girlfriends house so I can shave there and save my nice soaps and creams for home. I currently ordered a tub of Omega soap to be my everyday soap replacing the Williams because I've read and watched some reviews on that. Thanks again guys.

    That seems counterproductive. JMO

Good for you that you worked it out. I still can't bring myself to attach the word "awesome" to a description of Williams lather. Then again YMMV in this shaving game.

Note I said pretty awesome, not fully awesome. More awesome in the sense I got it to work. So I was proud. lol !

Yes, it is an accomplishment of no mean proportions when you can get Williams to cough up a workable lather. I will leave you to bask in your well deserve glory.
