Sounds advice. I was going to explain how Martin de Candre protects and lathers like a cream. Very cushioning, thick and 'sticky' lather which doesn't dry on your face once lathered.
Right now, it is my only shaving software - I don't use any other and I am happy to use MdC original exclusively.

So I've tried
Col Conk lime,
Razo Rock essential oil of lime.
Maggard Razors Orange Menthol,
Maggard Razors English Barber Shop,
Geo F. Trumper Coconut Shave Cream,
Tabac cream,
Proraso Red,
Cella.
The Razo Rock Essential Oil of Lime is probably my favorite of the bunch as far as lather time and protection is concerned. Plus it has a stronger smell than some of the others. Maggards Orange Menthol was also nice. The english barbershop lather seemed to break down quicker than the orange menthol for some reason.
The Geo F trumper cream was probably least favorite. Of the shaving creams, Proraso was the best performer of the 3 creams I listed imo. Tabac didn't lather quite as well, and needed a little bit more added moisture to find a good consistency than the Proraso, and the Geo F Trumper Coconut had very little scent.Last edited by dickpicnic; 05-06-2015 at 11:44 AM.

Thanked: 2591A very good IMO soap is Saponificio Varesino, tripple milled but lathers super easy. I have the "Mana" and it smells awesome. This one is IMO similar to MDC but cheaper.

Cella is an excellent choice. Another (although not receiving a lot of love for whatever reason) is Crabtree & Evelyn. Their Sandalwood and Nomad versions have been long time favorites of mine.
