    Default Xpec

I tried Xpec today for the first time.
Amazing smell and feel but I'm not sure how to use it.
Normally I use creams like GEO and make the lather on my face but the Xpec although in a tub is more like a soap. Having never used a soap before, I take it you have to make the lather in the tub and then apply to the face ?
I tried but couldn't make the lather on my face.
Does that require a damp or wet brush?
    Any advise would be welcomed.
I could test n learn but you guys can just set me straight in one paragraph . Thank you

Note: I also tested two razors I honed last night... Deadly and smooth AGT, life doesn't get much better than at

Yea, no problem. Pictures are always worth a thousand words as they say.

With a hard triple milled soap or a semi soft soap/cream (croap) like Xpec or CF you just load the brush on the puck and build lather on your face or in a bowl. The croaps load more easily than the triple milled so you need less load time with them. The rest is getting the product to water ratio right for the particular product you are using.

I started out with Proraso green and got great results. When I tried my first soap, Tabac I initially got awful results (which tells you I didn't know what I was doing, I've never had any soap that lathers better than Tabac). What I did was build several "practice" lathers a day in the palm of my hand. In just a few days, I had it dialed in. Try to build lathers that are too dry, try to build lathers that are too wet, then you will be able to find the sweet spot. An added benefit of this practice....your palm will smell awesome.

I've always found with X pec a moderately wet brush and the stuff loads right up and a tad of face lathering and it simply explodes lather.
