Question U.S. stores with shave soaps ?

Are there any common chains/storefronts where you can pick up something other than Van der hagen or Williams ? or is it pretty much mail order only.

I mean, like Tabac or Proraso & etc.

I tend to avoid malls and other stores my wife goes in, but if there were someplace I could look at quality shaving supplies I might go willingly, on occaison.

I think Bath and Bodyworks carries a line, if I recollect, it is sold under a different name..but for Tabac and Proraso, I think not..

L'Occitane has some good shaving soap (e.g., Cade) and there is the obvious store, Art of Shaving. In the local malls, here, we have a chain of mens grooming called The Grooming Lounge with a robust selection of ToBS, etc., and Neiman Marcus carries higher end products (e.g., Aqua di Parma and Creed). There are also some smaller ethnic stores where I have found shaving products. For example, there is a place here in Northern Virginia called The Italian Store that carries Proraso products.

Neiman Marcus has a decent selection. Creed, AoS, Jack Black, Kiehl's, Aqua Di Parma and probably a few other lines as well. Nordstrom's might be a safe bet too....also as mentioned above, Bath & Bodyworks carries a line called C.O. Bigelow, a/k/a/ Proraso. Same product, different package

Where are you in Alabama? I've heard there's a place in the Shoals that sells soap, but I'm not sure of the name. Green Mountain Soap is made in Huntsville and probably could fix you up if you called them (they don't have a retail but I've heard they will let folks "drop by," but don't quote me). Bath & Body works sells rebranded Proraso cream. If you're close to Atlanta, it's always fun to stop by Atlanta Barber Supply, they have a fair selection of Proraso Products. Hope this helps.

THANKS to all. I'm near Huntsville, in fact 1 mountain over from the actual Green Mountain. This is increadible! I pass right by a bunch of stores that have Green Mountain shave soaps- looks like they have 6 kinds! triple milled shaving soaps. Good thing its a week till payday so I can only get one, now i just have to figure out which one to get today....hmmmm.

Yeah I always pick up poraso cream an bath an body works. If there is an ulta make up store near you they usually have a small men's section of shaving stuff. Usually AOS, jack black, an couple others. Sounds like you have more options than you realized. Good luck an let us know what you find.

Default feed, seed and SHAVING SOAP !!!!!!

So I pass by two places in Huntsville listed as having Green Mountain soaps- a pharmacy and an old time market. The market had GM bath soaps, but neither had shaving soap other than Williams. Rain on that parade

Not one to let things go the next day I emailed GM and before the day was over I got a reply with places having the shave soap. One of which was a garden supply store I happened to be going to anyway. I picked up a puck of Lime Vetiver and one of Cheaha.

This is strange- I put my nose right in the box and the smells weren't very loud- but- they somehow filled the vehicle up with smell on the way home. I've shaved with both now- the scent is not strong at all in the lather, very rich and smooth gliding. A+ rating.

This is stranger- another place listed carrying the shave soaps happens to be a feed store not a mile from my house. So when I need some more laying mash for the chickens in a week or so I'll see what they have and maybe get the Balsam Spice....
