Thread: Regular bath soap for lather

I used dove off and on for shaving with up until about ten years ago!!
Dove works fine but I prefer my shaving soap!

I have used a plain Ivory bath bar a couple of times just to see if it works. It works well enough (no nicks or irritation), but I have a water softener, which makes a huge difference with whatever soap or cream I'm using. I still haven't found anything as economical as Proraso cake soap that works as nicely, even though I've tried Marvey, Williams and a number of others. My face isn't handsome enough to deserve spending big bucks for a little tub of fancy cream or a puck of flowery smelling soap.
