Default Quick question about dr Harris puck fitting the TOBS bowls

Hey guys, on my last post you've helped me to decide which of the dr Harris soaps to buy, but I have one eespecific question. Does the dr Harris soap puck fit in the Taylor of old bond street wooden bowls? I have a couple here and would like to purchase just the puck refill from dr Harris. I normally wouldn't be asking this question if we were talking about soft soaps, but given that it's a fairly hard soap it might be a problem with trying to fit in another's brand container. Thanks for the attention, peace!

try it and see, I bet it will, there may be a size issue , you can melt it down and reshape it if needed

I wouldn't melt it, tallow based soaps can burn if you try that. But grating the puck up with a cheese grater and pressing the shavings into the container of your choice will work wonderfully

I melted a col conk into one,not such a good idea guys. Even though it's a glycerin based soap the wooden bowl kept staining the soap. As it turned out I ended up getting a brown lather. I guess the hot water thing would be a better way to soften it. Thanks for the answers

well get a ring mold grease it up, heat your soap up mold it to the correct shave in the mold, let cool then place in wood bowl

I would go with the grater, if the puck is too small grate the base and pack the gratings around the side to fit. If it is too big grate the sides/base until it goes in then squash the gratings onto the top.

I can only add that it will fit a Trumper bowl, the diameter is smaller but it's about 1/16" too tall. A few uses and the lid will close, I guess.
