    Default Lather Help

    Hello everyone,

Do I need to get a mug or a scuttle to get hot lather. right now I've tried two ways with face lathering.

First I soak the brush for 5-10 minutes in hot water (as hot as my apartment allows) shake off excessive water, swirl the brush around the soap and apply to face.

second I tried putting the brush under running hot water and then doing the same as above.

neither method has worked getting hot lather

    thanks

If it's hot lather your after try a scuttle. You can still face lather and keep your brush warm in one from SRD or Sara Bonnyman. If you bowl lather try Georgetown Pottery or Scwarzweisskeramik.

There are several styles. I'm partial to my Georgetown Pottery G21 scuttle.

I read both threads, so to confirm, a scuttle is necessary?

    Short answer is no.

I've gotten hot lather simply by sitting a bowl in a sink of hot water. Soaking brush and bowl in hot water. Lift bowl/brush out of water add/apply soap and whip it, put bowl with brush back in hot water to stay hot/warm.

I have a rather small sink and scuttle is handier/easier for me that's all.

Depending on how clever you are there are numerous way to achieve the goal. Some are better than others, some are more costly. The scuttle is the easiest way to get hot lather. Some fellas use various bowls and hot pots and pots in pots or hot water changes with the brush or home made water jackets. take your pick.
