Using sample size soap
I got a sample set of soaps from SRD, but am having trouble using them
Does anyone have tips on how to load your brush up with such a small piece of soap?

Thanked: 5Wet the bottom and press it into a shallow bowl and let it dry so it sticks then I soak in water to soften and load on top of it as usual. May take a little longer to load due to the smaller surface area for the brush to contact but eventually you will get an adequate load if soap in your brush for 2-3 passes.
Also if it's a hard soap try a boar's hair brush the stiffer bristles help to scrape off enough soap for adequately loaded brush.
This is just what I have found to work for me. Hope it helps.

You could also try grating it and then pressing it into whatever you are going to load the brush in. In the past, I have grated a bit and built something of a nest for the chunk that I was too lazy to grate.

Thanks! I have 12 of the samples, so I can try both suggestions and see which one works better for me.

You could rub the sample directly onto your wet face, then load the soap into your brush by brushing your face. For tips, search YouTube or this forum for "shaving stick" "face lather."
Keep your pivot dry!

Thanked: 154You could also just cradle the piece of soap in the palm of your hand and load the brush as you would if it were in a small bowl.

I tried smashing it into a smaller bowl, and that worked very well!

I usually just pinch out a little an face lather. I use my hand first just to get it good an wet an then a brush.
