Default Pre de Provence 63 ordered!

I tried to get some info on this cream a while back but nobody had used it. Finally found it in stock an decided why not. Ordered a tube. Grabbed some more feather blades too. Hoping I like it. Will post a review after I get it.

Google gave me a few reviews on other boards and they where all good. It is a brushless cream btw, something I've never used. My only experience was with the standard PdP puck which I got as a gift with a razor purchase. I never got it to lather well and the scent was an unappealing herbal type. I eventually threw it away.

I used the No. 63 balm this morning. The scent is warm, spicy, and very sweet. I smell honey, leather and tobacco.

Please let us know what you think of the cream.

And yet I have recommended the PdP puck as an easy to lather soap with decent cushion and slip. I am amazed at how often this happens - one guy gets good lather from a soap while another gets dish washing suds. Scent, of course, is entirely a personal preference thing but you'd think that lathering would be more consistent. Just one of the many mysteries that make this game fun, I guess.

ps- I agree about the scent.. it's a bit floral. I can tolerate it but.. meh.

The soap seemed very hard and even with hot water resisted loading for me. The can was filled to the brim, which on a soap you like would be a good thing, but only made for a mess in this case. That and the fact that it was a freebie and I didn't like the scent may have led me to give up on it sooner than something else. Not that I didn't give it any chance, I used it 5 or 6 times and set it aside for a couple of weeks between tries.

Just opened the box an gave it the first sniff. In the tube I like the scent. Will use cream on my next shave in a day or so. Then give my thoughts on performance.

Finally got the chance to use this cream today. Here's my thoughts on its performance. Scent I like. Not my favorite but distinct an enjoyable. Of course this is brushless cream. Which was a draw back for me. Really missed making lather. Slickness was good. Was able to make three very comfortable passes. Got a nice smooth irritation free shave. Overall I can see this staying in rotation but only for the rushed DE shaves. As not making lather saved some time. I think if they would make it in a standard cream I would've enjoyed it more. If your someone who uses brushless creams regularly this is one you should check out. As it did perform well. An smells good.
