Thanked: 0Captain's Choice Product Line
Well, had them in the mail, finally got them in. I got each of the four soaps they offer, Bay Rum, Lime, North, and Sandlewood and the matching aftershaves. I had to pass on the Cat O' Nine Tails this go but it is on my list for the future. Initial thoughts on the Bay Rum (Haven't gotten to use the others yet) are the scent is exceptional, absolutely floored in the best way possible and the lather was every bit as protective and slick as anything I've ever used. As for scents on the rest, I'm probably going to go with the North next, then Lime and finally Sandlewood. The soap reacted well to both badger and boar brushes with both a face and bowl lather (Got the Captain's bowl last time and bravo on it). Does anyone have any experiences with these products or the Cat O' Nine Tails scented aftershave?

I have Captain's Choice Lime AS and like it. Not real strong but stays around for a bit.

Thanked: 0Ok, had a chance to use the North scented soap/aftershave, and it may be the fact that spending most of my summers in central/eastern Oregon where the juniper scent is very common, it took me back to many a fishing trip out at Prineville and Lake Billy Chinook with my grandfather, absolutely wonderful, also had the opportunity yesterday to check out the Lime and I was a bit nonplussed when I first smelled it, but man when you start working the lather up, which both Lime and North did exceedingly well, the entire truckstop bathroom was sending up a contact report for being under assault by limes lol, incredible, sandlewood is up today and given my experiences with the other three scents, I'm looking forward to it a lot. I will say that so far the only thing that is left to be desired by this line is how long scents linger, but for anyone who likes to use cologne or doesn't like scents from shaving to stick around it is no issue, I just take it as a reason to look forward to them coming back up in the rotation, so far my hat is off to Scott and the Captain's Choice brand

Just ordered the soap sampler. I've been using the bay rum aftershave for some time now. I have several different brands of bay rum and Captain's Choice Bay Rum is one of my go to aftershaves. I'm looking forward to trying the soaps.

Thanked: 0I've been very impressed with them so far, I have had a slight bit of difficulty with making a lather when I was in Wyoming, but I always do with any soapso I don't think that is a specific issue with these soaps, please do letus know what you think of them when you get them

I have their bayrum soap and aftershave. Both are nice products. They don't have the clove scent that most bayrums have but still a nice scent that lasts for hours.

I haven't tried their soaps, but have all their aftershaves. I save the Cat O' Nine Tails for the absolute coldest mornings, as it provides a nice warmth and an interesting scent.

Tried the bay rum soap the other day. Nice scent like the aftershave. An almond sized amount in my Becker scuttle gave more than enough rich lather for a 3 pass shave. I also tried the sandalwood yesterday. Nice lather but not much scent. I would not buy the sandalwood for its scent. Still have the Lime and Northwoods to try. I like my shaving creams on the softer side. These seem pretty stiff.
