Thanked: 3222You should be able to get a good lather from any decent soap Arko on up with a HMW brush. More than likely you just need to experiment a bit to find out how to make lather with your brush. Nothing wrong with practicing lathering without shaving.

It just takes a while to get the hang of making a good lather.
Most don't load enough soap. Except for Martin de Candre, load a lot of soap and then add water with dips into a bowl.
For bowl lathering, keep adding water a few drops at a time.
Suddenly you will be getting good lather. Just takes practice. Not every new wet shaver has the luck of having a Hirlau to give real time hints.
Excess lather left on the brush can be placed back in the bowl or on top of the puck. Of course, there has to be room to accommodate the excess.
Keep us posted. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
