I've been using a 'roll-on styptic' for years. What I have is called 'NIK+AID'. I believe that I bought it at Wal-Mart many years ago. I have not seen it recently.
The label says that the active ingredients are: Witch Hazel, Aluminum Chloride, Aluminum Chlorhydrate, Alcohol, Dimethicone, Copolyol, and Aloe Vera. It is/was manufactured by: Leib Research, Personal Care Products Div., Thousand Oaks, CA 91362.
The stuff works great, much better than the solid pencil, but tastes equally as bad. One place that I frequently cut is above my upper lip above the left side corner. (I guess I need to open my mouth to stretch the area, but I cannot bring myself to do so.) Since the stuff is liquid, a little bit of it runs over my lip.
I will keep a look out for this stuff and post where I find it.
