Default Cella in a wood bowl?

I am about to pull the trigger on a brick of Cella. Still haven't decided on a container. I would really like to put it into a nice wood bowl but wonder if it might have a short shelf life if I did. Has anyone had success with Cella in a wood bowl?

From what I understand, the wood bowls are treated to accommodate shaving products. I don't foresee a problem with transferring Cella to another bowl, wooden or otherwise, as long as there is a lid to help maintain as much of the fragrance as possible.

First, you will not regret the Kilo of Italian shave goodness.

Most report that it performs better over time if it is stored in an airtight container between use.
And since you are going to have conservatively three years of shaves in the chunk of Sapone some planing is in order.

I've PIF'd at least half of the 100g blocks.

Next time I will make some 50g (1.76 oz) packets for samples

Use rate is very YMMV (brush size, loading style etc.) After tracking the weight on a digital gram scale I was able to get plenty of lather using less than a gram of soap, as in three years out of a kilo is not hard to imagine and four years (1460 shaves or .68g/shave) would not surprise me.

This is why storage is important. I've used the vacuum bag method and store the sealed chunks in the shave Den. Some refrigerate or freeze.
But left exposed to the air you will loose that classic bitter almond scent in short order and I can't imagine that the performance will improve.

And since a 100g block will last 3-4 months for most you might want to try the wooden bowl with 25 - 50g to start.

The link above has a lot more on the subject...part of the SRP treasure trove of knowledge..
