Thanked: 0Pre shave
I've found that if I apply about 3 drops of jojoba oil to my face and then apply my shave soap with my brush it makes for a great close shave and makes my skin feel better.

Kind of like using pre shave oil. We have discussed that a lot. Some like it and some hate it. I like my face to be clean and dry before shaving. I've never seen any benefit from any pre shave preparation. It's a real YMMV type thing.

Glad it works for you. I've tried oils and they seem to kill the lather. I just wash well (and wetly) with Dove soap before a shave, then rinse before lathering. For me, the wetter my face is when I start to lather, the better the shave.YFMBD (your face may be different).

Anything which works is great! I like 4 or 5 drops of vitamin E oil rubbed-in the nite before the morning shave.
Makes all go smoother, IMO. Each to his own!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I have tried GF Trumpers Limes Skinfood. Seems to protect and lubricate pretty well.

Thanked: 96I ordered Lush Dirty shaving balm and it says you just apply and shave. It may be ok with a DE but not for a straight. I found if I apply the Lush Dirty to a wet face, wait 3 minutes and apply soap or cream over it the shave is amazing. The Lush has a formula that softens the skin and heals it. I not only get a great shave, but I just rinse and don't need alum. Works great for my sensitive skin.
