Yea, synthetic brushes are different and require a different technique than boar or badger bushes.

I have only tried the AS and honestly find the scent gets more nauseating as the day progresses. When first applied it was tolerable but through the day I found it would start breaking down and what was good about it would dissipate and what was left was sickingly sweet or something and would give me a headache.

I tried hard to like it and gave it a serious try but I just had to give up after a week. I have been too scared to try the other products because of it...

Yea, not all products work for everyone. I think that is especially true with after shaves and colognes because each persons chemistry is different. That is the only thing I can think of for it to smell like crap one one person and good on another. Hate when that happens. That is aside from just plain not liking the scent.

I just received a severe scolding from SWMBO for wearing Floid Black. She says it smells like BO and I am not to use it when she is around.

Since she is always around I am screwed. I think it smells great.

    Update:

The neighbor just came over. She thinks it smells great.

I just ordered the soap in ceramic bowl from Amazon. I thought it was pretty cheap compared to other sources: CDN$ 21.92 + CDN$ 5.54 shipping.

In terms of quantity I have enough soap to last me a while with my MdC, Arko sticks, Arko creams, and Palmolive cream. But, I've always wanted to try this soap becauseI like the scent. I already have the aftershave and the Eau de Toilette.

Tabac impresses me every time I shave with it and that is at least every other day. The wife and I both like the smell and it just creates a super slick lather that really is fantastic.

I have used the Tabac Hair Cream daily for the last 5 years. Tabac shaving soap was my first "non Williams Mug Soap" purchase in 2007. I also like the luxury bath soap they make.

I just shaved with Tabac soap for the first time. Being on pain killers after a root canal, I found the scent a bit too much. I don't think it will a problem later since I like the cologne. The soap itself is great. It produces a very rich lather like I like a lot.

If you leave the lid off. And let it "breathe". The scent will tone down a bit. But yes it is stronger than a good many of the other soaps I have tried.
