Default Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary Shaving Soap

Just had my third shave with the Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary Shaving Soap, triple milled, wonderful, rich robust stuff.

There was a scent that I couldn't quite place, really stood out as something unusual, until today's shave when it finally hit me what that distinct smell was - it smelt like tea, a tannin maybe? Very nice, anyone else notice this?

Using the Manna Sicily tomorrow. Relying on my nose is not a good bet though, but I will give it my best effort.

Both of my soaps, Manna and Dolomiti have faint scents.

    Gentlemen,
Yes, this is a delightful shave soap in every way. I have the Dolomiti and the Aromatica and enjoy both.

If you drink Earl Grey, the tea smell is bergamot. All the ingredients are on their website.

Just finished shaving with the Manna. This is a great shaving soap!

The scent is very light and fleeting. Not one you would buy for the aroma.

I haven't had a cup of Earl Grey since watching a Star Trek: Next Generation marathon when we were all deeply concerned about The Borg, but now that you mention it, that's it, never would have put the two together - thanks - The Borg and Saponificio Shaving Soap - this hobby just keeps getting more interesting!

Thx Phrank. Had to order a tin to try now.

I do love Bergamot. Think it's one of the big components of pinaud as well.
So I ordered the anniversary soap, the AF balm, and a big bar of pomegranate soap for m'lady..
From Italy, maybe a couple weeks.
    Cheers.

If she does not like it try the Mitchel's Wool Fat bath soap. Wife and daughter-in-law love it.

Excellent - I'd say you'll get it within 7-10 days easily, mine arrived in 5 business days...ordered mid-week, was there the following Tuesday...was surprised how quickly it got here.

Just got mine and will take it out for a spin. Really like their other soaps so I am sure I won't be disappointed.
