Thanked: 25Glycerin use
I have been adding glycerin to my scuttle for over a year now. I'm not sure it does anything.
Has anyone found that it is a shaving aid?

Glycerin is only a tool to get better performance from an inexpensive or dried out shave sop product. It adds the slipperiness that makes shaving easier. A couple drops on the damp puck before lathering it is usually plenty. Too much doesn't help.

Thanked: 5I just started using glycerin on my pucks for a week or so. I love it, I think it improves the lather and the slickness. I also feel like it improves the post shave performance. Two small drops is all you need in my experience..

I also use glycerin. I have a running uber lather that is refreshed each morning with two drops of glycerin as well as whatever soap/cream I feel like adding. Also use a small amount in the various aftershave balms I concoct from time to time.

Thanked: 220I add it to my soap lather once in a while to make it slicker. Seems to work for me, also tends to keep some soaps from drying out too quickly, as noted by Geezer. Maybe it is working for you, but because you've used it for so long you don't notice it anymore?
