    Default Musgo real shaving creme

I have a tube of mucgo real shaving cream. I should say what I have left of one. I bought the tube 7 years ago when I bought my first real quality DE razor. A Merkur future in the chrome finish, I now use a brushed metal one. I didn't know how to use the product and didn't have a brush and tried using it by rubbing it into my face. It didn't work for me, when all fails follow the directions and use a brush. A few years later 4 to be exact I bought a great brush and tried using it. I must say it was better but not great. Now that I have been informed about the real way to use a brush and create lather I must say the experience is much better.

Has anyone used this cream before? I have the real sent, and I understand they several other scents of the product. The only problem I have with the real is the smell its not bad or great its just a older old time barber smell I remember as a kid. Has anyone used the other scents and is there any you could recommend or not . The product works very good and leaves the face smooth. I see that it has been around for many years so it has to be good, its a little tuff to get into the brush is something I have noticed. I bet a boar hair brush would work better on this product I bet.

I have used the original scent, Oak Moss, and Lime Basil. I like them all. They seem to have a careful hand with the fragrances -- classy, clean, distinct but not overpowering.

I find it works well to apply directly to the beard with fingers and then face-lather with a brush. Works up very quickly.

I used the Musgo Real original scent on and off about twelve years ago, it performed well but to me anyway the scent was great a time or two then something about it I really didn't care for it. I would go back again after a time and it would smell good again, but still a few shaves later and the scent just wasn't my cup of tea. I haven't tried any of their new scents they have out I hear good stuff about them. ( just my two cents).

    Gentlemen,

I used Musgo Real a long time ago — only once. The cream lathered well and had good glide. But Musgo Real also set my face on fire, so I threw it in the garbage.

I absolutely love the Spiced Citrus scent. It works great for me, and the scent is really long lasting.

I'm beginning to think my facial sensitivity is on par with Obie's. Thanks Obie. I will put this brand on the "do not buy" list.
