Thanked: 3795I'm satisfied with the soap, and used to use it exclusively long before finding SRP. However, since a puck lasts me about 5 years, there's no way I'm going to ignore all of my other (sorry to say) much better soaps for that long.

I can get a good shave with Williams, it does not carry the cushion in it like it did years back, and does not compete with my Harris soap's nor with my other top tier soaps. I've always been a guy that enjoyed the scent of Williams. it's just a shame they didn't care about making a quality product in the wet shaving market of today. When I use it which is rare anymore, it's just mostly for the memories I have of it from the past, when it was also a much better soap too, and the scent is nostalgic for me. My two cents on it.

Thanked: 28I have used it for years when I started using soap instead of shaving cream. I was a DE user then and used it up until I started my addiction and found this site. I now have many of a selection of creams and soaps. I still like Williams shaving soap. A careful shopper could have probably bought me a better soap for 90 cents. which is what I paid for a puck of it the other day.

Thanked: 3795I'll tell you what...
Just to get back on track with the original intention of this thread, I will relent (a little) and vow to use nothing but Williams for the next two weeks.
I just spent some time this weekend at the Honemeister's house and got to shave with a fantastic soap that I was going to order, and was looking forward to using more, but I will hold off and stick with William's for two weeks.
Till the puck is gone?

I'd rather shave dry, then fighting my way through a shave with a half a** disappearing lather. However it is a challenge soooo.
Challenge accepted.

Thanked: 3795So just like my attempt to corner the market on "old Coke," apparently my warehouse of Williams ain't gonna pan out either?
Well, I have been shaving with it for the last few days, and I must say that I think it is much easier to make a perfectly good lather with it when I face lather rather than making lather in a bowl. I hardly ever face lather, but it is in fact a bit more satisfying to do so and I think I will do much more of it in the future, even after my two weeks of Williams are up!
