    Default Geo.F.Trumpers shave soap review x 4

I recently bought my fourth Trumpers soap and thought I'd review how it stacked up against the others.
Initially I bought my first soap based on some pictures I found online showing their two London shops !!
They seemed very traditional and I'd noticed that the word "perfumer" was prominent on both shop-fronts.

I wanted a heavily scented soap and wasn't disappointed. The rest is history and they're in my weekly rotation.

The first and my favourite is the Violet scent. I've just used it now.
A cold water shave, using my Omega Mighty Midget mixed badger/Boar brush.
I'm not a good or patient latherer but this soap never fails to produce a good lather.

Cushion and glide is probably not as good as my Dr. Harris soaps but it's still great.
The violet scent is to die for I absolutely love this. Hot water or cold, this is a great performing soap.

The second is the Rose scent. Once again a very heady fragrance.
This was a hot water shave using a Chinese silvertip badger brush.

You can see from the pics that there is a certain aerated consistency in the lather.
This is true with all four of my Trumpers, although it's more likely because of my
doubtful lathering skills .... nevertheless, I get a smooth shave and like the violet,
the scent lasts a few hours afterwards.

The third soap is the Limes and this is a tiny bit subtler in the scent department.
Despite this,it's the best Lime scented soap I've used and the fragrance lasts half a day.
I shaved with hot water and another Chinese silvertip badger brush.

This lathers well enough for me in a ceramic bowl and like the others, the lather
lasts long enough in the bowl for a three-pass shave. A very comforting soap.

The last and most recent addition is the Sandalwood scented soap.
A cold water shave with my trusty Chinese $5 synthetic brush.

In the scent department, this was a real disappointment.
I wanted something to replace my TOBS Sandalwood shave cream.
A real barbershop scent in my opinion !!
This fragrance is barely noticeable to my nose but the other characteristics are the same as the
    above three soaps.
A really good lather was achieved with something that smells like a bath soap.
Overall I think of these as a good complement to my Dr. Harris soaps.

I have found Trumper's creams to be decent, but their soaps have disappointed.

You actually picked up the four scents I was interested in from Trumper's, especially the rose. Based on this, I'm gonna pick some up and give it a go.

I purchased two of their soaps last time I was in London, the limes and rose.
I have to say that they were a disappointment.

The lather was extremely short lived.
I ended up using them in the shower.

It's true, sadly short lived. I love the scent of Eucris but the soap is so poor I'll do without. At least until I get the Eau de Toilette.
